Students interested in taking College Credit Plus (CCP) courses will need to take at minimum the ACCUPLACER test. This test is used by the colleges to ensure that students are college ready and ensure students are placed in classes at an appropriate skill level. Highland offers the ACCUPLACER test at HHS through Marion Technical College once per year for those interested in taking CCP classes through MTC. Students may take CCP courses at the college of their choice. It is the student and families’ responsibility to apply and know what tests each college accepts and if students need to take these tests through the college they are applying to.
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is needed if you are planning to enter the military. This test determines how qualified you are in certain military roles and can assist in getting the specialty or job you would like along with additional signing bonuses. In addition, HHS gives the ASVAB to all junior students as a complete skill and career assessment outside of any military commitment. ASVAB results are interpreted for all students at HHS and provides potential occupations based on interests and skills. The ASVAB assists in developing effective strategies to help career goals.
